Have you ever used your blocked ex’s contact to write your groceries? Or do you use your best friend’s contact instead? Whatever, the answer may be. You don’t need to do that any longer.
WhatsApp has recently announced that a new ‘Message Yourself’ feature will be unveiled to users worldwide. This feature will give an opportunity to interact with oneselves. Well interacting with oneself is just a colloquial expression. The real utility of this feature is to make quick notes.
Although there are different note making apps such as Evernote, Google Keep or the device’s inbuilt app, most people find it cumbersome. The reason behind this perception however, is not the bad User Interfaces of notes making apps, but everyone’s overt familiarity with apps like WhatsApp.
Most people are familiar with typing in WhatsApp chat boxes, while this same level of familiarity is not accorded to the note making apps. Hence, note making apps largely attract people who have a professional or academic requirement of taking notes. Note making for normal daily chores was still not a very easy task.
The absence of Saved Messages was also one of the important reasons why many left WhatsApp. Telegram has been providing this feature for a very long time. The feature provides a very quick and easy way to note something on the go.
However now WhatsApp is going to embrace this feature as well. The Save Messages feature will be launched for iPhone as well as Android. The feature hasn’t been officially released yet, but will start in a few days.
One can send not only text messages, but all kinds of other data types like PDF, Images, etc. WhatsApp is accessible on Phone as well as through a web browser on Desktops. This also provides a unique way of data transfer between a phone and a PC. A message sent in the Saved Messages section could be accessed through any device.
Once the new version is launched and has been updated by users, the Message Yourself feature could be easily initiated. You just need to search through your contacts on WhatsApp and find your own name. Once you find it, you can start messaging yourself.
You can even pin your chat at the stop, so you don’t need to search for it every time you have to create a note.
