Luke Dashjr, one of  the core developers behind Bitcoin recently took to Twitter to express his concerns regarding a NFT. He discovered that someone has created and sold an NFT featuring his code without his knowledge or consent. 

He clarified on social media that he was not involved in the creation or sale of the NFT and did not endorse it. This incident highlights the need for ethical practices and respect for intellectual property in the cryptocurrency community, as unauthorised use of someone’s name or code can be misleading and damaging to their reputation.

Luke Dashjr (born Luke-Jr) is a software developer and Bitcoin Core contributor. He is well known for his contributions to the Bitcoin ecosystem, particularly in the area of scaling solutions and network optimization.

Dashjr has been involved in the Bitcoin community since 2011, and has contributed to several open-source Bitcoin projects, including Bitcoin Core, Armory, and libbitcoin.     Dashjr was reportedly the unfortunate victim of a hack on the last day of 2022 that lost him “basically” all his BTC.

    Hackers gained access to his PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) key, a common security method that uses two keys to gain access to encrypted information.
