Cairn Energy PLC has announced that it is going to change its name to Capricorn Energy PLC. The British Oil exploration company‘s rebranding move is significant considering the timing of it.
The company used to function in India as well, however the retrospective tax laws changed the things for erstwhile Cairn Energy. However, India has shed the retrospective tax laws now which means a sigh of relief for the energy corp.
The company currently works on the domain name CairnEnergy.com. A look into the company’s new name and supposedly domain name CapricornEnergy.com left us empty handed as the website was not up yet. This was expected as the name change process is supposed to conclude somewhere around mid-December.
However, a WhoIs lookup at the domain name CapricornEnergy.com did show that the domain name was registered with Cairn Energy. Moreover, the Company is going to continue its old ticker of CNE on the London Stock Exchange.
