The DoH (DNS over HTTPS) protocol has been one of the year’s hot topics. The DoH protocol means that when it is deployed in a browser then the browser can hide DNS requests and responses in an otherwise regular looking HTTPS traffic.
Microsoft has also joined the bandwagon when it was announced that it is adding support for the privacy-focused DNS over HTTPS (DoH) protocol in a future Windows 10 release. Microsoft wants to upgrade the privacy and security of its users by making all their DNS queries encrypted and hence cancelling the scope of plain-text domain names appearing in unsecured web traffic.
All the major 6 browsers: BRAVE, CHROME, EDGE, FIREFOX, OPERA and SAFARI have their plans for DoH. The decision of Microsoft is a step further to a more private and secure cyber experience.
