CRA conducts workshops in collaboration with ICANN

The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) in collaboration with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) conducted a one-day workshop on Handling Internet Identifiers Abuse and Misuse, and another three-day workshop on Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). The workshop was conducted in CRA’s headquarters from 11th of November to 14th of November.

The workshop was aimed at technical professionals for them to be aware about DNS Operation, Internet Unique Identifier System and to also provide them with knowledge, skills and tools to counter DNS abuses and misuses. The workshop was conducted in light of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed between Qatar and ICANN in 2014.

Along with the workshop an academic engagement was also organised at the College of the North Atlantic, Qatar (CNA-Q). In the engagement a wide range of issues were discussed like Internet & its History, formation of ICANN, understanding domain names and about security related technologies like DNSSEC.
