World’s first SMS sold as a NFT

Vodafone has sold World’s first SMS to be sent. They were sold at a Paris Auction House called Aguttes Auction House, as reported by Deutsche Welle. The Auction fetched €107, 000 which is equal to a whooping $121, 000.

World’s first SMS was sent on 3rd December, 1992. It’s been almost 3 decades since! What’s even more exciting is the content of the text. The text was a simple wish, ‘Merry Christmas‘. I think the time of the auction couldn’t have been better.

It’s the Christmas season. What better news could be for all the Christmas enthusiasts? Merry Christmas to you all as well!

The sale of the world’s first SMS as a non-fungible token (NFT) is an exciting development in the digital art and collectibles market. This sale represents a significant milestone in the NFT industry, demonstrating its potential to expand beyond traditional art forms. The use of SMS messages as a medium for NFTs creates an entirely new category of digital collectibles, showcasing the value of individual communication and memories. The sale of this NFT highlights the potential for unique and personal experiences to be immortalized in digital form, creating new opportunities for artistic expression and collectibles. This development is yet another example of how technology is revolutionizing the way we create, share, and value art and collectibles. Congratulations to the team behind this innovative sale, and I look forward to seeing how the NFT industry continues to evolve and innovate.
