Why you should update your Zoom App before 30th May

As of 30/05/2020

If you are also among the millions depending upon Zoom for your professional communication then you should update your Zoom App before 30th May to continue using its services. Zoom has rolled its new Zoom 5.0, updating to which has been made mandatory. In case you don’t do it the consequence is simple, you won’t be able to call anyone.

The reason behind this is the swarm of cases of security breaches, leaks and the “Zoombombing” that it has been getting. The Covid-19 gave a surprise spike to the user base of the American communications technology company. And along with it came mischief makers and all the problems associated with them. In response the company has struck back with an advanced AES 256-bit GCM encryption.

After 30th May the GCM encryption will be applied to every single Zoom call. And Zoom 5.0 is required for this encryption. Along with the stringent encryption, you get several features like

Waiting Room enabled by default, Complex Meeting IDs, Passwords & Password complexity, Screen Share Watermark, etc.
