Domains in full Greek Script

D

The European Registry for Internet Domains (EURid) has launched the .ευ domain. .ευ is the Greek version of .eu TLD. Good news for the Greeks as now an all Greek domain with .ευ extension can be used. The existing Greek names with .eu extension can be switched over to .ευ in 3 years.

The European Commission is all about diversity and inclusiveness. The decision to launch .ευ domain is in line with its vision. It brought the Cryllic and Greek name under .eu TLD in 2009. The Cryllic extension .ею was started in 2016.

The EU’s TLD is supposed to be strengthened by the entry of new non-Latin scripts. The Greek extension was launched yesterday in Athens.
