Domain Name Service market to clock $600 million

The Domain Name Service market is expected to reach a figure of $600 million by 2026, according to a report by Reports and Data. At a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 10.7%, the global market would shoot from $250 million in 2018 to $600 million by 2026.

The primary reason for the rise in the market would be the ever increasing online threats. One of the major threats is perceived to be DDoS attacks. DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service. DDoS is a kind of attack in which an intended victim system is flooded by an overwhelmingly high internet traffic. The high traffic is created through employment of numerous other affected servers.

Although the growth looks pretty good in numbers, it could have been even better. The major reason for short-falling is the fact that a huge number of DNS providers give their service for free. This curtails the extra revenue that the industry could have further gained.
