Cloudflare receives DMCA Subpoena to disclose domain name details

Cyber Scams are nasty aren’t they? What is more nasty is the fact that a very small percentage of perpetrators behind these scams actually get caught. But what if domain name registering agencies disclosed the identity of fraudulent domain name holders?

Digital Millennium Copyright Act Services Ltd. (DMCA) has handed a subpoena to Cloudflare regarding the disclosure of information related to certain domain names. The information should be disclosed to Motion Pictures Association, representing itself and Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment members.

The domain names in question here are the ones that provide illegal IP TV services. The subpoena mentions 5 domain names. These are HyperSonic-tv.com, ApolloGroup.tv, BeastIPTV.us, TopdHosting.com and FitIPTV.com.

A similar case leading to suspension of 17 IP TV domain names also happened. Read it here.
