Ben Chestnut on how buying Mailchimp.com changed his life

Things are going awesome at Mailchimp. Mailchimp just launched its own website builder and CEO Ben Chestnut is very excited about it. The CEO who finds his name in two of Forbes’ list: “Billionaires of 2019” and “Forbes 400”, revealed some interesting and inspirational facts in a blog.

What we know as Mailchimp was initially named as “WeeMailer”. Ben then thought that monkey is a favourite animal among everyone and he should use the name. He initially wanted the domain “Mailchimp.com” but it was booked, so he booked “Chimpmail.com” instead. He then went out and wrote, “That one act—purchasing a domain name—is how this 19-year-old, 1,200-employee, multimillion-dollar company came about.”

Mailchimp is the world’s leading email marketing platform, with a staggering 15 million user base and 60 percent market share.
