Amazon to shut down Alexa.com?

Who doesn’t love Alexa? Our own assitant and chatter in times of loneliness. However, Amazon has decided to shut down the domain name Alexa.com. What effects does it have on our Alexa?

Alexa.com is a domain name that has been around since a long time. Earlier Alexa wasn’t popular for Voice assistance but it’s popular was with something else. In 1996, Alexa was introduced as a website ranking platform where people could access the popularity of their websites. Later on, Amazon bought this.

However, now Amazon feels the expense on the platform is much more than revenue it receives. Hence, on 1st of May, 2022 Alexa.com would stop functioning. If you were a fan of Alexa.com, you can still visit it at Alexa.Amazon.com.

This would have no bearing on Alexa, the Voice assistant. It will continue to work as it has always had.
