So, Fox has filed a trademark for “Ok Boomer”. The television giant probably aims at developing a reality, comedy and/or game show called OK BOOMER.
Many others have also filed a trademark on the name. Kevin Yen, a New Yorker, also filed for a brand of clothing. A Pittsburgh-based company filed for a brand of stickers and decals. William Grundfest also claimed the name for a series of live stage performances about “generational differences.”
The chances however, of any of them getting the name from USPTO is slim considering the popularity of the name as it has become a “widely used message”.
Here is a look into domains related to the sought-after name:
The domain OkBoomer.com was first registered in 2007. It was expired after that until it was registered back again in 2015. The domain was yet again started in August, 2018. The interesting thing to note here is that it was in a pending delete status after it was recently expired. There are currently 25 bids on it at Namejet.com. Surely other bids would be there as well. Moreover, there are 79 extensions with the term “OkBoomer” in it.
