The 6th edition of Rise Conference which was going to be held in Hong Kong from March 2020 to March 2021 has been postponed. The reason being the ongoing clashes between the Government and pro-Democracy protesters.
The series of protests that began after the introduction of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill by the Hong Kong government, is seeping into the tech industry as well. Rise is among the largest conferences held in Asia with big-shot attendees like executives of Uber ad Byju’s.
Web summit, an Ireland based company, said in an announcement that Rise has been postponed till 2021. Web Summit is the company responsible behind this event.
