  2. All three-lettered .COM domains have been long since registered

    In case you haven’t already noticed, the chances of you finding a three lettered .COM domain are slim to none. The domains are extremely popular because they are short and easy to remember. All these domains have been gone ever since 1997, so if you ever come across one be sure to grab it!


  3. All ‘a’ .COM addresses have been taken

    All the domain names comprising entirely of the letter ‘a’, from a.com right up to aaaa….aaaa.com (63 characters) are already registered. Someone clearly sees the vowel as a valuable domain name. What do you think?

  4. Registering a domain used to be entirely FREE

    Domain name registrations were free until 1995, when Network Solutions was granted the authority to start charging for domain names.     The longest unhyphenated single word domain name belongs to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, a Welsh village, and was registered by hosts Internetters in October 1999. The town’s name translates into English as “the church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio’s of the red cave”.
